They’re questioning who they are, what they believe, or where they belong, and it’s more overwhelming than they expected.
I help teens (15-19) and adults untangle anxiety, shame, and identity after difficult relationships, systems, or life transitions.
Therapy should feel like a safe space where you can show up as your full self. Without fear, without judgment, and without having to explain the basics of your identity. Whether you’re navigating your gender and sexual identity, healing from religious trauma, or looking for support in your relationships, you deserve a therapist who truly understands you.
THERAPY FOR TEENS AND ADULTS IN PASADENA, CA
Why teens and adults choose to work with me
As a cisgender queer woman, I know how important it is to have a therapist who truly gets it: someone who sees you, respects you, and doesn’t need the basics of your identity explained. My priority is making sure you feel safe, heard, and supported in a way that feels right for you. I take a feminist, systemic, and attachment-focused approach to therapy. We don’t just focus on the present. We explore how your past experiences, relationships, and the larger systems around you have shaped who you are today. Healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself, because you are not broken. It’s about understanding yourself with compassion, challenging the patterns that no longer serve you, and moving toward a life that aligns with who you truly are.
What you can expect working with me
A space where you don’t have to shrink yourself to fit in.
A therapist who shows up authentically (yes, I use humor and cuss a little in sessions).
A collaborative approach—this is your healing journey, and you get to decide what it looks like and where we go.
No matter what you’re bringing into the therapy room—whether it’s questions about your identity, wounds from past relationships, religious trauma, or just the weight of being human—I’m here to hold space for it all.
I’m so glad you made it!
Hi, I’m Rachel. I love working with queer folks and those navigating spiritual + religious harm
The clients I work with are often thoughtful, deeply caring, and carrying more than they let on. Maybe you’re unsure of what’s left of your faith after deconstructing, and the fear feels louder than the certainty ever did. Maybe you’re queer or questioning and longing for a space where your identity doesn’t need to be explained, justified, or “worked through.” You might be grieving relationships, communities, or a version of yourself that once felt safe, while trying to imagine what comes next.
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and this work is both personal and professional for me. Christianity and ministry were once my world, so I understand the language, expectations, and quiet pressures that can shape identity and self-worth.
My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative—offering a space where you can show up fully, ask real questions, and move toward a life that feels aligned, safe, and authentically yours.
