Peer Consultation
A space for grad students + associates to think out loud with someone who’s been there.
Consultation is a space specifically for you: to ask your questions, brainstorm, and get direction to move forward
Being a therapist can be one of the most rewarding things we get to be a part of, but it can also be one of the most challenging. This is especially true as we are starting out, both in school and as associates. We are given some direction but can often feel lost, unsure, and isolated.
Outside of working with clients, I love supporting other therapists as they navigate the complexities of our work. Consultation with me is relational, casual, and hopefully fun. I will do my best to answer your questions and provide guidance without feeling like you are under review.
Think of it less like supervision and more like calling a friend who happens to know things — and will tell you the truth, with zero judgment.
What we can talk about
Clinical cases
LGBTQ+ affirming care, religious trauma, deconstruction, countertransference, case conceptualization
Marketing yourself
Psychology Today profiles, Google, referral networks, getting found by the clients who actually need you
Licensing & hours
Navigating your associate hours, supervision requirements, BBS questions, what to track, what actually counts
The messy middle stuff
Imposter syndrome, burnout, what to do when a client fires you, whether this career is even right for you (it's okay to ask)
Social media
What to post, how to show up authentically, ethics of therapist content, building an audience without burning out
Building your practice
Finding your niche, writing a bio that doesn't sound like a robot, setting rates, getting on panels vs. going private pay
This might be for you if:
You're an associate or grad student
pre-licensure, any modality
You work with LGBTQ+ or religious trauma clients
or want to learn how
You're building a caseload
and have no idea where to start
You need a real human to think with
not another podcast episode
Consultation is NOT a replacement for supervision and does not meet supervision requirements
Consultation Rates
$125 for 60 min
$75 for 30 mins
