Dr. Katie Mukai is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist based in the Pasadena area, bringing over a decade of experience in neuropsychological assessment across the full lifespan — from children and teens to adults navigating complex questions about how their minds work. She is joining Psyched Therapy Collective as a co-owner and will be accepting assessment clients later in 2026.

Katie specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for:

  • ADHD — in children, teens, and adults

  • Autism Spectrum — across ages and presentations

  • Learning differences — including dyslexia and other learning disabilities

  • Mood disorders — when emotional and cognitive concerns overlap

  • Traumatic brain injury & concussion

  • Medical complexities — including conditions like multiple sclerosis and hydrocephalus

  • Outpatient neuropsychological assessment at UCLA Semel Institute, Long Beach VA, and Southern Oregon VA

  • Interdisciplinary mental health at the Southern Oregon VA

  • Community mental health at Fuller Psychological & Family Services

  • University counseling at Vanguard University

  • Private practice neuropsychology in Pasadena

She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Westmont College and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Neuropsychology Track) from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Southern Oregon VA and a two-year neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at a Pasadena private practice.

A little more about Katie

A born-and-raised Angeleno, Katie spends her free time hiking, camping, surfing, and cycling around Southern California, usually with her dog Teddy in tow. At home, she and her wife share their space with two orange cats and an ever-growing stack of board games, video games, and Magic: The Gathering decks. If it's a game, she'll play it, including Dungeons & Dragons, where she's currently training as a Therapeutic Game Master through the Game to Grow method.
